Read the price
Implied probability is 1 ÷ decimal odds. A price of 2.00 implies 50%; 2.50 implies 40%. The probabilities across a bookmaker’s outcomes can add up to more than 100% because of the margin.
One lesson for each Value 7 market. Each ends with a knowledge check verified on the server; a correct answer can earn XP once per lesson, within the shared weekly XP cap.
Three outcomes: home win, draw or away win. Compare each price with your own estimate of the three chances; they should add up to 100% before the bookmaker's margin.
How it settles: Settles on the score at the end of regular time, including stoppage time. Extra time and penalties do not count.
Watch for: A draw is often underestimated in tight, low-scoring matches.
Yes or No. It depends on both attacks and both defences, not on who wins: a 2-1 defeat still lands Yes.
How it settles: Settles on regular-time goals. Own goals count for the team credited with the goal.
Watch for: Lineups matter: a missing first-choice striker or goalkeeper changes the picture.
Over or Under a line such as 2.5. Over wins above the line and Under wins below it. On a whole-number line, a total exactly on the line loses both ways: Value 7 picks win or lose, there are no pushes.
How it settles: Counts every regular-time goal from both teams.
Watch for: Compare the same line: Over 2.5 is a very different call from Over 1.5.
One team starts with a goal handicap (for example -1.5). Add it to that team's goal difference: above zero wins. Exactly zero loses, because Value 7 picks win or lose with no pushes or half-wins.
How it settles: Settles on the regular-time score after applying the handicap.
Watch for: A strong favourite at -1.5 must win by two or more goals.
Over or Under a line for the home team alone. Useful when you have a view on one attack without predicting the whole match. Exactly on the line loses both ways.
How it settles: Counts only goals credited to the home team in regular time.
Watch for: Home advantage, the opponent's defensive form and set pieces drive this market.
The same idea for the visitors. Away sides often score less, so lines tend to sit lower. Exactly on the line loses both ways.
How it settles: Counts only goals credited to the away team in regular time.
Watch for: Travel, rotation and the home side's pressing style all matter.
Pick a player to score during regular time. Prices depend on the player's role, minutes and the team's chances.
How it settles: Settles on official regular-time goal events; own goals and disallowed goals do not count. A player who does not score, including one who does not play, loses.
Watch for: Check the confirmed lineup before kickoff: a bench start changes everything.

If your estimated probability × decimal odds is above 1, your estimate suggests value. At 2.50, an estimated 45% gives 1.125. That estimate can be wrong: account for uncertainty and bookmaker margin, and never treat value as a promised win.
Check the match, market, outcome, line and period. Over 2.5 goals differs from Over 1.5; regulation time differs from extra time. Review lineups, opposition and recent form before making your call.
